If Samsung Galaxy Note 3 seemed too expensive to you, Samsung has launched Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo for India priced at Rs. 40,900. The Note 3 Neo supports all the fancy S-Pen features that were introduced in Note 3 along with the faux leather back cover.

The Super AMOLED display size has been marginally reduced to 5.5 inches and the display resolution has been trimmed down to 720p HD shooting down the pixel density to 267 ppi from 386 ppi in Note 3.

The processor employed is Exynos 5260 which houses Quad-core 1.3 GHz Cortex A7 coupled with dual-core 1.7 GHz Cortex A15 processor. The RAM capacity is ample 2 GB and you will get 16 GB onboard storage, expandable to 64 GB using MicroSD support. The 3G only variant will feature 1.6 GHz Quad core processor.

The rear camera has an 8 MP BSI sensor and is capable of Full HD recording. Front 2 MP sensor is also present for video recording. The phone will run on Android 4.3 jelly bean operating system with TouchWiz UI out of the box.

The battery capacity is 3100 mAh and connectivity features include HSPA+, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and GLONASS. The price difference as of now makes Note 3 a better option. The price gap will gradually widen over the coming weeks, thus making Note 3 Neo a low cost viable option over Note 3.

  1. A lot of people say that the note 3 neo is same as the good old note 2, but it’s not. Note 2 has a quad core processor of 1.6ghz cortex A9 whereas note 3 neo comes in two versions, one has a hexacore processor (quad core 1.7 ghz cortex A15 and 1.2 ghz dual core cortex A7 ) that works simultaneously and the other comes with a quad core of 1.6 ghz cortex A7 with dual sim option.

If you consider the dual sim version of note 3 neo, the processor is slower than that of note 2 as note 2 has cortex A9 and note 3 neo has cortex A7 processors. However, this note 3 neo is not the one that will be launched in India, perhaps not the one that will cost Rs 40000.

Other then processor, note 3 neo has all the features that the actual note 3 has including the infrared port, where as note 2 does not. Plus, there is a huge difference in the looks considering the important things such as thinner bezzel and a lighter phone which note 3 neo is.

I hope my review was helpful. I will keep posting in the future as well and help people out choosing the right smart phone.

  2. Lol…samsungs time is over. They can’t fool customers with their brand name for long. Disgusting so to say.

Waiting for Xiaomi to be launched in India.
