MWC fervor has not subsided yet, and the domestic manufacturer Spice has introduced an entry level smartphone, Spice Smart Flo Poise Mi-451 priced at Rs. 5,499. To give the phone a more premium look and feel, Spice Mobiles is offering a Flip cover, premium quality earphones and IPS LCD display, which is not that common in this price range.
The IPS LCD display is 4.5 inches in size and sports FWVGA 854 x 480 pixel resolution. The display specs are certainly above average in this price range. The chipset comes with 1.3 GHz dual core processor with 512 MB RAM and 4 GB storage. The storage is further extendable to 32 GB using MicroSD support.
The software running on the modest chipset is Android 4.2 jelly bean. The Dual SIM device is 8.7 mm thick and lies on the chubbier side with 156 grams of body weight. It wouldn’t be wise to expect much from the basic imaging hardware which includes 3.2 MP Rear camera coupled with 1.3 MP front shooter. LED flash is also present for low light assistance.
A major limitation is the absence of 3G connectivity. Connectivity features include 2G (EDGE), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, aGPS. Battery capacity is average 1450 mAh. If you can compromise with 3G connectivity and are looking for a budget oriented approach, the phone looks like an interesting proposition on paper.
