Looks like Samsung is in love with its faux leather plastic casing. After Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Grand 2, Pro series, Galaxy Camera 2 and Note 3 Neo, latest to join the club is Chromebook 2 which starts for a price of $320.

This new faux leather Chromebook will come in 11.6 inch and 13.3 inch display variants and operate on Google’s Chrome OS. The hardware under the leather wrapping is quite formidable too.

The Chromebook 2 is powered by Samsungs latest 2.1 GHz Exynos 5 Octa chipset (Exynos 5422) which will is later expected to appear in a Galaxy S5 variant as well. The 11.6-inch, 1,366 x 768 display has been priced at $320; and a 13.3-inch, 1920 x 1080 Full HD display at $400.

The RAM capacity backing the chipset is 4 GB and like always you het 100 GB of storage on Google drive. Onboard storage is 16 GB. Other features include HDMI out, USB 3.0, and USB 2.0 port and a 720p HD webcam. MicroSD support is also present. Samsung Claims 8.5 hours of battery backup on 13.3 inch variant and around 8 hours on 11.6 inch variant.

Chromebooks are meant for those who work on the World Wide Web round the clock. Although Google has launched several apps for the Chromebook platform for effective offline performance they are not that evolved.
