Swipe Sonic, a dual SIM (GSM + CDMA) smartphone with 4 inch display is now available on online retailer Shopclues. The phone poses entry level specifications for a price tag of Rs. 7,399, something which won’t be helping the relatively new brand.
The 4 inch display sports 800 x 480 pixel resolution, which amounts to decent 233 pixels per inches. The processor used is 1.2 GHz Snapdragon S4 Play, but don’t get confused by S4 branding. The MSM8625 Chipset is based on older 45 nm process technology and uses obsolete Cortex A5 based cores.
Other chipset features include 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage, MicroSD support and Adreno 206 GPU. Imaging hardware is also quite uninteresting with 2 MP rear shooter and VGA front camera. Swipe Sonic weighs a moderate 126 grams and is 12 mm thick. The operating system is Android 4.1 jelly bean.
The battery capacity is 1500 mAh and connectivity features include EVDO, 2G (EDGE), WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth with A2DP and aGPS. A good thing about this smartphone is presence of both CDMA and GSM connectivity at budget price. Rest of the entry level hardware is meant for bare minimum usage.
