Micromax Canvas Knight vs Canvas Turbo Comparison Overview

Canvas Knight is here for Rs 19,999 and it will be taking charge from its sibling Canvas Turbo which was the erstwhile flagship. It was also launched for a similar price but is now available for around Rs 16,000-17,000. Both of them will be spoiling the consumer for choice and we compare the two of them to find out which one is better:

Canvas Turbo vs Knight

Display and Processor

The Canvas Turbo comes with a 5 inch display which has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and this is the same unit you get on the Canvas Knight. It has a pixel density of 441ppi and the screen is a pretty bright unit.

Processing department brings about a major change in the two devices. The Canvas Knight gets a 2GHz Octa Core Mediatek MT6592 processor whereas the Canvas Turbo gets a 1.5 GHz Quad core Mediatek MT6589T unit which comes second in terms of performance. Both of them get a 2GB RAM.

Camera and Internal Storage

The Canvas Turbo gets a 13MP rear camera unit and a 5MP front camera which in itself is a decently capable imaging unit for a budget device. The Canvas Knight on the other hand gets a 16MP rear camera with OmniVision sensor and M8 Largan Lends which produces better images than its sibling. The front camera is a better one as well as it is an 8MP unit.

Both the smartphones lack expandable storage capacity but the Canvas Knight gets double of what the Canvas Turbo offers. The Canvas Knight gets 32GB of internal storage capacity and the Canvas Turbo gets 16GB of internal storage.

Battery and Operating System

The Canvas Turbo has a 2,000 mAh battery which promises a standby time of 105 hours with the talk time getting rated at up to 7 hours. The Canvas Knight on the other hand has a 2,350 mAh battery which has a standby time of upto 185 hours and a talk time of upto 7.5 hours. We’ll have to give this one to the Canvas Knight as it offers a better battery backup.

Canvas Knight as well as the Canvas Turbo run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and have an equal chance of getting an update in future.

Conclusion

The Canvas Knight comes across shining as a better device compared to the Canvas Turbo and seeing the minimal price difference between the two devices, it somehow makes sense to go with the recently launched flagship rather than the last flagship. So if I was in the market for a sub Rs 20,000 smartphone and had these two on the top of my list, Canvas Knight is what I’d go in for.
