Karbonn Titanium Octane

Karbonn has managed to reach the headlines with the launch of a couple of octa-core phones. The vendor has come up with the Titanium Octane that will be available from the first week of next month. To talk about this handset, it runs on Android 4.4 KitKat and has a MediaTek SoC with 1.7 GHz octa-core processor. There is a 5 inch display with HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels and 16 GB of onboard storage that can be expanded externally up to 32 GB. Also, there is 1GB of RAM in the smartphone for smooth performance.

When it comes to other specs, the Karbonn Titanium Octane has a 13 MP primary camera sensor coupled with a 5 MP front-facer for video chatting sessions. Besides these, the handset includes a 2,000 mAh battery, which is disappointing.

Karbonn Titanium Octane Plus

While the Titanium Octane is a low-end variant, the Titanium Octane Plus is a higher-end model with improvements in certain aspects. The handset includes a 5 inch display, but the difference is that it boasts FHD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels instead of HD. Also, there is 2 GB RAM in this model along with 16 GB of internal memory capacity that can be expandable.

Micromax Canvas Knight A350

The dominant indigenous phone vendor – Micromax has left no stone unturned with the announcement of its flagship model Canvas Knight A350. The highlight of this smartphone is that it has an octa-core MediaTek MT6592T processor clocked at 2 GHz. With the right mix of pricing and specifications, the handset could be one of the best selling phones for this season.

It includes a 5 inch Full HD IPS display with a pixel density of 443 pixels per inch. The Canvas Knight boasts of a 16 MP primary camera with OmniVision CameraShip sensor that is teamed up with an 8 MP front-facing snapper for making video calls. iBerry, another India based vendor has also announced an octa-core smartphone called Auxus Nuclea N2 that features a 5.7 inch Active Matrix LCD screen with a FHD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and 386 ppi pixel density. The display is topped with OGS technology that makes it more responsive. Running on Android 4.2, the phone has the MediaTek MT6592 True octa-core chipset clocked at 1.7 GHz and 2 GB of RAM.

There is a 13 MP rear camera with LED flash, BSI sensor for improved low light photography, image stabilization and 1080p video recording ability and an 8 MP front-facer for video chatting sessions. Along with 16 GB of internal memory, the handset has a micro SD card slot as well supporting up to 64 GB expandable storage.   1. If the Karbonn Titanium Octane Plus would have had a 2600 to 3000 mAh Battery then I feel it would have been the best in these series. But presently its battery lets you nowhere. I feel that the company should soon do something about this snag.
