It a rare sight to see budget smartphones featuring brawny plastic cases, but Xolo has made this possible with the launch of the A510. Carrying a tempting price tag of Rs 7,499, the Xolo A510s that has listed on the official website features a sturdy casing despite of its low pricing. The rear panel of the smartphone seems to be made of a metallic body and has a good looking finish. As of now, there is no word on when the phone will be available for sale, but its specifications have come to light showing its similarity with Xolo A500s. Here is a quick review of the Xolo A510s, have a look at it below.
Camera and Internal Storage
The camera in Xolo A510s is annoying as the phone includes a mere 5 MP rear camera with LED flash coupled with a 0.3 MP front-facer to make video calls. Though the handset appears to inferior camera sensors, it is acceptable considering its price point.
To address the storage needs of consumers, the handset has 4 GB of internal storage capacity that can be expanded further up to 32 GB using a micro SD card. However, the internal memory capacity is too low given that all the applications store on the phone memory by default.
Processor and Battery
The Xolo A510s is stuffed with a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MTK6572 processor that is coupled with Mali-400 MP GPU. There is 1 GB of RAM aboard to ensure that the phone can handle multi-tasking to some extent.
The 1,400 mAh battery unit fitted in the Xolo A510s is claimed to deliver a life of up to 13 hours of talk time and 424 hours of standby time when used over 2G.
Display and Features
The Xolo A510s houses a 4 inch IPS display boasting a resolution of FWVGA 480×854 pixels and an average pixel density of 245 pixels per inch. There is IPS LCD display tech that delivers wide viewing angles, enhanced response times, good quality color reproduction. Also, there is OGS (One Glass Solution) for added protection.
The Xolo A510s runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system with no bleak chances of upgrade to receive new features and advancements.
Looks and Connectivity
As mentioned above, Xolo’s latest offering – A510S possesses a sturdy plastic case with metallic finnish, which is the highlight of the handset. The back panel is quite attractive and the overall look of the smartphone is gorgeous for its price point.
Furthermore, the Xolo smartphone packs data connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, 3G, EDGE, Bluetooth and GPS to ensure you always stay connected.
The Xolo A510s is priced well for its low-end specifications, but there is a fierce competitor for the handset and it is none other than Spice Smart Flo Mettle 5X. Though the Spice offering is made of plastic, its rear casing is built using metal, thereby competing with the Xolo’s offering. Other competitors include Micromax Canvas Mad, Xolo A600 and Gionee Pioneer P3.
