Box Contents

Inside the box you get the Asus Transformer TX300 with detachable display, laptop charger, user manuals, warranty card.

Build Quality, Design and Form Factor

It has one of the best built quality you can expect to see in a hybrid laptop with this kind of the hardware and form factor. It has a detachable display which can be detached and can be used as a full fledged windows 8 tablet for portable computing. It has one great design with brushed metal finish on the display part and aluminum on the keyboard part, once you hold the machine in your hand it feels slightly heavy but on the other hands it feels premium and strong build.

Camera Performance

We took some photos from the rear camera which can take pretty good photos when you are using it as tablet and it can also record videos at 1080p and does have auto focus while doing video recording and also under photo mode. Front camera is 2 MP which can also do HD video chat in case you need to it and streams a good video feed.

Display, Memory and Battery Backup

The display is really crisp with great viewing angles and everything on it specially HD videos and pictures looks great on it. The in built ram on the machine is 4 Gb which is quite good to make it fast enough in day to day usage and it can also be used for high graphic intensive tasks however heavy video editing on this machine is not recommended but you can play some heavy graphic games as well on this machine without any graphic lags. It has a 2Cells 5000 mAh Polymer Battery or 2Cells 3120 mAh Polymer Battery depending the configuration you opt for, we had the 2 cells 5000 mAh battery one and it gave around 5 hours of usage on stretch.

Software and Connectivity

The software is windows 8 professional which comes preloaded and its smooth enough in transitions and animations, we did not faced any lags or other major issues with the UI. You have a COMBO audio jack with mic support, 2 x USB 3.0 port(s), RJ45 LAN Jack for LAN insert, micro HDMI, Docking Connector, mini Display Port and SD card reader.

Sound and Video

It has dual loudspeaker which gives pretty loud sound and great sound quality when you play HD videos or movies, the video playback is smooth and all HD videos plays without audio or video lag. The combined audio jack can be used to connect headphones which has built in mic but you can not connect any external mic with the machine.

What We Did Not Liked

  • Little Bit Heavy
  • Costly Price

Conclusion and Price

Asus Transformer Book TX300 is a great replacement for a powerful desktop machine and on the other side it provides a great portable detachable screen on which you can pretty much do anything you do on PC. The only no so good thing about this device is the Price as its priced at Rs. 91,000 approx which is very high, but it can a be great choice for a business user as per the features, specs and usage of this machine.
