One such vendor is Gionee, from the people republic nation.
Well, Gionee has made all the stones turn towards it with the Gionee Elife S5.5 the world’s slimmest smartphone. Going by its name, the Elife S5.5 measures only 5.5 mm in thickness and was launched Live in India today.
Design
The Gionee Elife S5.5 is crafted using metal and it features a uni-body design. These aspects make the phone attractive as even the big brands in the industry have not been able to deliver such handsets. Gionee has not stopped with the fabulous and slim design and has stuffed the Elife S5.5 with capable hardware.
Specifications
The Elife S5.5 is fitted with a 5 inch FHD Super AMOLED Plus display (Only 1 mm thick) carrying a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and an octa-core processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. Taking charge of the multi-tasking department is a 2 GB RAM accompanied by 16 GB of internal storage that remains non-expandable due to the lack of a micro SD card slot.
In the imaging segment, Gionee has made a revolution by including a 95 degree ultra-wide angle 5 MP front-facing snapper and a 13 MP rear camera sensor coupled with Auto Focus. The Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform is topped with the proprietary AMIGO v2.0 UI. The 2300 mAh battery powering the internals has been procured from Samsung.
For users to stay connected on to the go there is a host of connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, 3G, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 and OTG. Also, a 2,300 mAh battery claimed to deliver a decent backup to the Elife S5.5.
Pricing and Availability
The Gionee Elife S5.5 is priced at Rs 22,999 and a SmartBand is also bundled along with the smartphone for free of cost. The handset will be made available in a range of vibrant color options such as Black, White, Purple, Pink and Blue in order to make it a fashionable accessory.The availability date is 22 April 2014.
