Since the debut of 2014, indigenous tech manufacturer Lava seemed to be silent without much launches. Suddenly, the vendor appears to be on a launch spree as it announced the Iris 550Q smartphone a few days back followed by the dual SIM tablet – QPAD e704. Carrying a tempting price tag of Rs 9,999, the Lava QPAD e704 supports 3G on one SIM card and 2G on the other to facilitate seamless connectivity on the go. Now, lets analyze the specifications of the dual SIM tablet from Lava in depth in this quick review.
Camera and Internal Storage
On the photography side, the Lava QPAD tablet seems to be an average performer with a 3.2 MP primary camera supplemented by a basic VGA front-facer to capture selfies and for video calling. Of course, there are tablets that come with better performing cameras making the performance of this tablet’s imaging department average.
Taking charge of the storage needs is 4 GB of internal storage that can be expanded further expanded up to 32 GB via a micro SD card. Though the internal storage space is low, the expansion slot should be sufficient for the users to store their content.
Processor and Battery
In terms of raw hardware, the QPAD e704 is fitted with a Broadcom BCM28155 chipset housing a quad-core Cortex A9 processor clocked at 1.2 GHz accompanied with Mali 400 GPU. Also, the multi-tasking segment is handled by 1 GB of RAM that is decent enough.
Delivering juice to the Lava QPAD e704 is a 3,500 mAh battery that the firm claims to provide up to 300 hours of standby time and 10 hours of talk time.
Display and Features
The Lava QPAD e704 flaunts a 7 inch IPS LCD capacitive 5 point multi-touch display housing 1024×600 pixel resolution. Obviously, the IPS display panel will deliver improved quality and excellent viewing angles.
The tablet supports dual SIM functionality as mentioned above and is fueled with Android 4.2 Jelly Bean operating system. While the homegrown vendors have started focusing on Android 4.4 KitKat platform, the Android 4.2 seems to be disappointing, but it is acceptable considering the price range.
Lava has bundled a number of applications along with the QPAD e704 and some of them include WeChat, Viber, Asphalt 7 HD and NQ Anti-virus. Other features of the tablet include Wi-Fi, 3G, EDGE, GPRS, Micro-USB and HDMI connectivity options.
Comparison
Analyzing all the specifications, the Lava QPAD e704 will definitely be a competitor to tablets such as Micromax Funbook Mini P410, Dell Venue 7 and Oplus XonPad 7.
