Lava Iris 504Q+ with 10 MP Sony Exmor RS Sensor and 5 Inch HD Display at 13,999 INR

We were the first to spot the arrival of Lava Iris 504Q+, the successor of the popular Lava Iris 504 smartphone and the smartphone has now been officially launched at Rs. 13,990 (Same as Lava Iris Pro 20 ?). The timing is slightly surprising as the company is yet to make the last device in its “super over” official, but has surprised us with Lava Iris 504Q+ which wasn’t a part of the original super over lineup.

The IPS LCD display is 5 inches in size and features 720p HD resolution similar to its predecessor. The display is also protected by DragonTrail glass. The OGS technology and display lamination further adds to closer display experience.

The Processor used is 1.3 GHz quad core processor with MediaTek Mali 400 MP2 GPU. The chipset is most likely sought from Taiwanese giant MediaTek and is paired with 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 32GB via micro-SD card.

10 MP rear autofocus camera is powered by Sony Exmor RS Sensor having sensor size of 1/3.2 inch. Pixel size is also large at 1.4 micrometer for better low light performance. A front 2 MP shooter is also present for video calling.

Inside the slim 7.9 mm thick body design, the phone houses a 2000 mAh battery similar to its predecessor. Connectivity features include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Assisted-GPS,GPRS and USB. Lava has also highlighted gesture support features. Saying ‘Cheese’ or ‘capture’ will snap images from both front and rear cameras. Similar to Lava Iris 504Q, you can swipe your hand to scroll music, images, etc.

Commenting on the launch Mr. Hari Om Rai, Chairman & Managing Director, Lava International Ltd., said, “Iris 504Q+ was developed with an insight based understanding that we got from our consumers after the launch of our popular smartphone Iris 504Q mid last year. We have enhanced the highly popular gesture motion functionality of Iris 504Q by bringing in advanced voice and command control apart from major upgrades in internal memory and camera. Bringing one of the most popular mobile messaging services BBM on our smartphones is yet another effort to expand the ambit of messaging services for our consumers to connect and communicate seamlessly with their loved ones.”

Lava Iris 504Q+ brings some worthy upgrades over Lava Iris 504Q like enhanced internal storage, Better camera quality and perhaps an up to date processor. The display and battery rating remain same on paper, but that won’t be a deal breaker considering the difference in price.
