Samsung is usually known to release a plethora of tablets every year and now, a recent leak suggests that the South Korean tech giant is prepping a 7 inch device. As per TENAA the Chinese equivalent of FCC, the upcoming tablet device will feature a narrower and taller display that makes it resemble the ones on smartphones.
The tablet that has been leaked carries a model number SM-T2558 and it appears to include a 7 inch display that carries a dimension of 191.24×99.7×8.95 mm and weighs in at 245 grams. Interestingly, this tablet includes the capability to make and receive voice calls.
As mentioned above, the device being a tablet is completely different in terms of design and it bears significant deviation from the design of the Galaxy Tab lineup. Earlier this month, the SM-T2558 was approved by Chinese personnel and it was tipped to be made exclusively for China Mobile, a leading carrier.
Going by the leaked information, the Samsung SM-T2558 is fueled by Android 4.3 Jelly Bean OS and it flaunts a 7 inch display carrying a HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The device is speculated to be equipped with a 1.2 GHz quad-core processor teamed u with 1.5 GB of RAM for multi-tasking.
It appears to come packed with connectivity features such as TD-LTE and TD-SCDMA and on the storage front, it is guessed that it will support up to 128 GB of external storage. Details regarding camera, native storage support and battery remain unknown, but we can expect more leaks to pop up revealing all the details. According to some rumors, Samsung might also launch it as Samsung Galaxy Mega 7 for Global markets.
