Another budget smartphone in the Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus got a ninja launch in the country earlier today. Spotted on a major e-commerce retail website with a 5,749 INR price tag, the device is yet to be officially announced by its maker.
As you would’ve guessed looking at the price tag, the Titanium S1 Plus is far from flagship, but a very interesting device. What you generally expect from sub-6K phones is exactly what the Titanium S1 Plus does not do; that might’ve been a bit of an overstatement but the device does some cool stuff for the price tag it comes with. The most noticeable among these is the CPU it employs – the device features an impressive quad-core processor clocked at 1.2GHz. This, when most other smartphones in its price range lag behind with dual-core ones.
Next comes RAM; the S1 Plus comes with a healthy 1GB of RAM, which when paired with the aforementioned quad-core processor should make for quite a solid device for the money it goes for. For this, the company would’ve had to cut corners – and it did – with the screen, which happens to be a modest 4-inch with a 800 x 480p WVGA resolution.
The phone goes easy on imaging too – it comes with a 5MP rear shooter paired with a VGA front. While there are other phones out there that offer better imaging hardware at the price, hardly any possess the processing prowess this one comes with.
All of the above mentioned internals on the Karbonn Titanium S1 Plus draw juice from a 1500mAh battery, that although does sound below average capacity should do the job given the screen size.
