South Korean tech firm LG unwrapped the LG G Pro 2 phablet at the Mobile World Congress 2014 held in February. Since last month, LG had been launching the handset in Asian markets and now, it appears to be time for the Indian consumers to grab it.
As per entrusted Twitter user @Mahesh Telecom, LG G Pro carrying the model number LG D838 will hit the retail stores in India starting from today. The tweet reads, “#LG GPro 2, LG D838, colours available – black & white.(stocks by TODAY evening) MOP Rs. 49900 /- MRP 51500/-“. However, LG remains tight lipped regarding the official launch of the G Pro 2.
If LG releases the phablet at the above mentioned price tag, it is sure to fall in competition with flagship models such as Samsung Galaxy S5 and HTC One M that have already been released in the country.
Talking of specifications, the LG G Pro 2 comes fitted with an enormous 5.9 inch FHD IPS capacitive touch screen display boasting 1920×1080 pixel resolution. Powering the phablet is a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor ticking at 2.26 GHz and a big 3 GB of RAM to excel in multi-tasking capabilities.
Fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat, the LG G Pro 2 packs 16 GB or 32 GB of internal storage space that can be expanded up to 64 GB using a micro SD card. Handling the imaging department is a 13 MP primary camera at the back teamed up with OIS+, LED flash, 4K video recording capability and a 2.1 MP front-facer to make video calls.
For connectivity, there are aspects such as 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with aGPS and NFC. A 3,200 mAh battery powers the phablet delivering it up to 14 hours of talk time and up to 370 hours of standby time.
