Xolo Q900T Quick Review, Price and Comparison

The Xolo Q900T is a quad-core smartphone priced convincingly for the Indian market that is already obsessed with a range of similar devices. Its predecessor was announced in late 2013 and so soon the vendor has come up with its follow-up. Will the Q900T with standard specifications succeed? Well, it is the right time to look into this as we have come up with a quick review on the newly launched phone.

Camera and Internal Storage

The handset is pretty much modest when it comes to the photography department as it packs an 8 MP primary camera at the rear that is coupled with a 2 MP front-facing snapper on the front to assist in video chatting sessions. These sensors should be sufficient to click decent pictures that contain acceptable levels of detail. But, for those users who want to continue further with sophisticated camera aspects the handset may not be suitable.

Likewise many other entry-level and mid-range phones, the Xolo Q900T also packs 4 GB of onboard storage that can be further extended up to 32 GB via a micro SD card. Of course, the 4 GB storage would not be sufficient for users to store their pictures, videos, files and other content, but the inclusion of the expansion card slot is a boon.

Processor and Battery

Processor is the component that delivers ultimate power to a smartphone or any device for that sake. As far as the processing segment is concerned, the Xolo Q900T is a powerhouse as it includes a quad-core MediaTek MT6589 Turbo chipset that comprises of a 1.5 GHz Cortex A7 processor, 357 MHz PowerVR SGX 544MP GPU and 1 GB of RAM. For this price range, the Xolo offering with an advanced processor is definitely a great addition and it will make the handset pop up among the competition.

The battery on the Xolo Q900T is a mediocre one as its capacity is only 1,800 mAh battery. It is claimed to pump in a life of up to 1 hours of talk time on 3G and up to 60 hours of music listening that are pretty average.

Display and Features

The Xolo Q900T flaunts a 4.7 inch display with a HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. This might not sound pretty much enticing, but the handset has a 2.5D curved display panel that can pave way for better viewing experience for the users.

On the software front, the handset runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and there is no word on the roll out of v4.4 KitKat upgrade. Furthermore, the dual SIM phone has connectivity features such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS with aGPS to keep the users connected on the go.

Comparison

The handset will be competing with phones such as Moto G, Panasonic P31 and Intex Aqua Curve.
