The highly anticipated Gionee Elife S5.5, the world’s slimmest smartphone is up for pre-order in India starting from Friday. The handset was announced in the country last month at a special media event held in Goa. Also, it carries its name from its highlight of being the slimmest phone measuring a mere 5.5 mm thin. Those consumers interesting in buying the Elife S5.5 can pre-order it for Rs 22,999 from the Gionee India eStore.

Despite maintaining the thinness of the handset, Gionee has not compromised on its build quality as the Elife S5.5 is made of premium materials such as metal and glass and features a cutting-edge design. Also, the hardware and software incorporated in the Gionee Elife S5.5 make the handset a solid offering with an all new user experience.

To recap on the specifications of the Gionee Elife S5.5, the smartphone features a 5 inch FHD Super AMOLED display that is layered with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is stuffed with an octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor clocked at 1.7 GHz. This processor is supplemented by a Mali 450-MP4 GPU and 2 GB of RAM that can handle the graphics and multi-tasking departments respectively.
