As the consumers have started focusing on the capability of smartphones instead of blindly choosing one that is priced appropriately, numerous devices with solid specs are being launched everyday. Today, the Indian market witnessed the launch of Alcatel One Touch Idol X+, an octa-core phone and Wickedleak has come to challenge the same with its new offering – Wickedleak Wammy Neo.
The vendor claims that the Wammy Neo is the most affordable octa-core smartphone launched so far into the market as it is priced at Rs 11,990. Going by its specifications, the Wammy Neo is a dual SIM smartphone boasting of a 5 inch IPS display with HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels and Dragon Trail screen to resist damage.
Fueled by Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, the handset can be upgraded to Android 4.4 KitKat operating system in future. At the heart of the Wammy Neo is a 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 SoC paired with Mali 450 graphics and 2 GB of RAM. Handling the storage requirements is 8 GB of internal storage space that can be enhanced up to 64 GB via a micro SD card.
For imaging, Wickedleak has included a 13 MP primary shooter clubbed with auto focus. LED flash and FHD 1080p video recording and there is a 5 MP secondary camera at the front responsible for video calling. Also onboard are connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, micro USB and GPS and a 2,200 mAh battery powers the phone delivers up to 5 to 6 days of standby time.
Those consumers who are too concerned about the protection of their smartphone can opt in for the AquaProtect coating that delivers water resistance to for up to 30 minutes. The AquaProtect Water Resistant Technology is optional and it can be obtained by paying an additional price of Rs 1,500.
Launched today, Wickedleak Wammy Neo is available for pre-order from the official website and it will start shipping only from June 15.
