Celkon Campus A35K with Android KitKat at 2,999 INR

Celkon has announced its first Android KitKat Smartphone, Celkon Campus A35K priced at only 2,999 INR. The hardware it packs is quite simple and in case you are looking for ultra cheap Android phones, this might be the device for you.

The IPS LCD display is conventional 3.5 inches in size with HVGA 480 X 320 pixels. At the heart of the device you will find a 1 GHz single core processor backed by 256 MB RAM and 512 MB internal storage. You can also use 32 GB of secondary MicroSD storage. Snapdeal Erroneously mentions storage as 8 GB at the right side of the image, the specs listed below mention 512 MB onboard storage which makes more sense

Imaging hardware is fairly basic as well with 3.2 MP shooter at the rear and a VGA front camera for basic video calling. Other features include a 1400 mAh battery, 3G, Dual SIM connectivity, WiFi and AGPS.

As Expected, the trend for direct online retailing is expanding and Celkon A35K joins in with exclusive availability on Snapdeal. Later this year we will more dirt cheap smartphones loaded with Firefox OS from Spice and Intex and perhaps deliver better experience than what Entry level Android offer.

Celkon has chosen to compete in the lower Entry level market with its KitKat device, which is a wise move considering star players like Moto E and Unite 2 fighting in the price segment around 7,000 INR.
