Leading online marketplace Flipkart is known for its customer oriented service. On Friday, the retailer announced Scheduled Delivery scheme for the convenience of its customers. With this feature, customers are free to choose the specific time and date for the delivery for their order and the delivery slots are available right from the next day of placing the order.
Interestingly, this scheduled delivery feature is available for the Flipkart customers at no additional cost and it will initially be made available only for large appliances category. Gradually, this scheme will be extended to the selected other categories. Soon, Flipkart will also be providing installation of large appliances as well besides delivering them at the pre-selected time slots.
Commenting on the Scheduled Delivery announcement, Rahul Chari VP, Supply Chain Engineering at Flipkart said, “Scheduled Delivery as a feature, serves to enhance the online shopping experience, especially in metros where time constraints are a huge bottleneck for customers. While this is especially true of large appliances – we intend to extend this benefit to other categories soon.”
Currently, the scheduled delivery scheme is available for Flipkart customers in select cities such as Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata, but it is sure to be extended to the other cities soon.
Lately, Flipkart took the wraps off some other enticing schemes such as annual subscription fee of Rs 500, In-a-Day Guarantee and Same-Day Guarantee delivery services in select cities.
