Micromax Bolt A069 Quick Review, Price and Comparison

As the entry-level smartphones come fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system loaded with enhanced software features, all the vendors are racing towards launching such devices at competitive pricing. Today, Micromax has unleashed one such smartphone called Micromax Bolt A069 without much fanfare and the device is available on eBay India for Rs 5,301. Like the other handsets in this price bracket, this one is also a dual SIM device and it arrives with pretty basic functionality. Take a look at the quick review of the smartphone below:

Camera and Internal Storage

At the rear of the device is a 5 MP primary shooter complemented with LED flash for enhanced low light imaging. This snapper is coupled with a VGA front-facing camera that can assist in making video calls. Though this camera appears to be basic, we cannot expect more advanced feature set from a sub Rs 6,000 smartphone.

The internal storage of the Micromax Bolt A069 stands at 4 GB which can be expanded by another 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. Obviously, 4 GB haters will not prefer this smartphone, but it should be acceptable considering its pricing.

Processor and Battery

The Micromax offering arrives with a 1.3GHz dual-core processor from MediaTek’s stable and this is teamed up with a paltry 512 MB of RAM that will handle in rendering moderate levels of multi-tasking. Though we cannot expect a very smooth performance from this smartphone, we could not really expect anything better from the handset.

A 1,800 mAh battery is present inside the smartphone and according to Micromax this battery is rated to provide a talk time of 7 hours and a standby time of 210 hours that is average for an entry-level smartphone.

Display and Features

The display unit is a 5 inch one which has a screen resolution of 854×480 pixels. Considering the large display size, Micromax could have at least incorporated a qHD resolution as the FWVGA 480p resolution could make it pixilated and lag behind in sharpness when compared to its rivals.

The Micromax Bolt A069 is fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and it comes with connectivity features such as 2G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, missing out on 3G for faster connectivity. Also, the device supports 20 Indian regional languages along with English making it similar to Micromax Unite 2. Furthermore, the device comes in a variety of vibrant color variants such as Tranquil Green, Pure Grey, Raging Red, Pristine White and Mellow Yellow.

Comparison

The Micromax Bolt A069 will compete with the likes of Xolo Q600s, Karbonn Smart A11 Star and Moto E and others.
