Nokia Lumia 530 Based on Windows Phone 8.1 Announced Officially with Dual SIM Variant in Tow

Earlier this week, the alleged specifications of the Lumia 530 smartphone were leaked online tipping an imminent launch. Soon after the leak, the handset has been announced officially and it appears like Microsoft is planning to push its Windows Phone based Lumia lineup of devices harder as it has killed the Android powered phones in the Nokia X series.

The Nokia Lumia 530 smartphone is a budget device featuring a 4 inch FWVGA display with a resolution of 480×854 pixels and a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 chipset paired backed with Adreno 302 graphics unit to render a good gaming experience and a moderate 512 MB of RAM capacity that should suffice for the Windows Phone platform to sail through efficiently. The handset arrives in a dual SIM variant as well called Lumia 530 Dual with the Smart Dual SIM that provides call waiting and call forwarding features.

To meet the imaging requirements of the users, the Lumia 530 incorporates a basic camera set comprising of a 5 MP primary snapper. The handset bundles a low 4 GB of native storage space that can be expanded externally up to a whopping 128 GB with the help of a micro SD card. Other goodies onboard include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS with aGPS and a 1,430 mAh battery.

On the software front, the Lumia 530 runs on Windows Phone 8.1 operating system out-of-the-box. The user experience is further enhanced with the help of Nokia Drive+ for international navigation as opposed to the single country Drive navigation. The good thing is that the handset supports transferring the downloaded applications to the micro SD card.


As far as the pricing and availability is concerned, the Lumia 530 will be available in vibrant color options such as Bright Green, Bright Orange, Bright Green, Dark grey and White. The device is priced at $115 (approx. Rs 6,890) and will be rolled out globally starting from August.
