Japanese tech titan Sony has announced the launch of its mid-range offering dubbed Xperia T3 for the Indian market today. The handset will be available for sale starting from July 28, 2014 bearing a price tag of Rs 27,990. It is a lightweight smartphone designed with premium material such as stainless steel in order to render impressive aesthetics.
The Xperia T3 is fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and is the single SIM model. As of now, there is no official word regarding the pricing and availability of the Xperia T3 Dual. The highlight of the handset is its large screen and slim design measuring only 7 mm in thickness and 148 grams in weight.
To recap the specifications, the Xperia T3 is given a 5.3 inch HD Triluminos display with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2 carrying a resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The raw hardware of the handset includes a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor ticking at 1.4 GHz clock speed.
The mid-ranger also includes an 8 MP primary snapper with Sony Exmor RS and LED flash for better low light photography. There are other features such as scene detection, face recognition, sweep Panorama and HDR shooting modes. This is coupled with a 1.1 MP front-facing shooter that can make video calls and click selfies.
Storage wise, Xperia T3 houses 8 GB of native storage space that can be expanded by another 32 GB with the help of a micro SD card. Other goofdies onboard include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, NFC and a 2,500 mAh battery rated to pump in a backup of 13 hours of talk time and 688 hours of standby time.
Furthermore, like the other smartphones in the Xperia lineup this device also comes pre-loaded with Media applications such as Walkman, Movies and Album, Xperia Transfer that helps in transferring content from any device to the Xperia T3. Also, there are social camera features including SteadyShot, Social Live, AR Effect, TimeShift Burst, Portrait Retouch and Creative Effects.
