If you own a Lava Iris 504Q+, you will require a MicroSD card to update your phone. The update will be first downloaded to MicroSD card and will then install on your device. You can remove the MicroSD card after installing the new OS.

Lava promises that the new update will make your phone faster and better along with adding all new KitKat features like immersive mode, new Dialer app, Cloud printing, FSTRIM, etc. Since KitKat based on Project Svelte was designed to run efficiently on modest software we don’t doubt these claims but we do advice users to wait a while for user reviews before taking the KitKat plunge.

The highlight of Lava Iris 505Q+ is a decent 10 MP Sony Exymor RS sensor 1/3.2 inches in size. It packs a 5 Inch IPS LCD display with 720p HD resolution. It is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad core MT6582 chipset with Mali 400 MP2 GPU clocked at 500 MHz. Other features include 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, 2000 mAh battery, Dual SIM, USB OTG all for 11,900 INR.

Since you will be jumping from Android 4.2.1 to Android 4.4.2, you will notice the difference on user end as well. If you have already received the update and installed it, you can share your experience in the comment section below, for benefit of other users.

  1. I like this mobile one month before i bought display and camera its wonderful net also fast
But i need back cover exept flip cover

  2. I purchased the Lava iris 504Q+ day before yesterday & found that there was Developer mode option in the phone but after updating to the Android 4.4.2 Kitkat I found no improvement in the performance of the phone except two things – 01) Cloud Printing added, 02) Developer option removed. Secondly the Mobo Video player or VLC player can not run properly & every time it gets sttoped with errors…the same video format .dat & same Video player were running smoothly on my Karbonn Smart A1+ mobile phone which cost less than half the cost of this phone 504q+ ! More over the manufacturer advertise that it can record Full HD videos but I found that the resolution was only in .3gp format & not any formats like .mpg, .avi,.m2ts etc. There is no option to chose the format of the recorded video.
The touch sensitivity is also not moth, I should have tried the above thing before upgrading to the kitkat.you need to press rather than soft touch…

I do not know why the Tech community do not highlight such important points in their reviews…?
I bought this mobile after going through many reviews f this mobile & every body said this is good mobile…but actually not.
