Lava Iris 504Q+ (Full Review), the camera centric successor of last year flagship phone from domestic manufacturer can now be updated to Android 4.4 KitKat, via OTA update. You will get the notification automatically when the update is available for download.
If you own a Lava Iris 504Q+, you will require a MicroSD card to update your phone. The update will be first downloaded to MicroSD card and will then install on your device. You can remove the MicroSD card after installing the new OS.
Lava promises that the new update will make your phone faster and better along with adding all new KitKat features like immersive mode, new Dialer app, Cloud printing, FSTRIM, etc. Since KitKat based on Project Svelte was designed to run efficiently on modest software we don’t doubt these claims but we do advice users to wait a while for user reviews before taking the KitKat plunge.
The highlight of Lava Iris 505Q+ is a decent 10 MP Sony Exymor RS sensor 1/3.2 inches in size. It packs a 5 Inch IPS LCD display with 720p HD resolution. It is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad core MT6582 chipset with Mali 400 MP2 GPU clocked at 500 MHz. Other features include 1 GB RAM, 8 GB internal storage, 2000 mAh battery, Dual SIM, USB OTG all for 11,900 INR.
Since you will be jumping from Android 4.2.1 to Android 4.4.2, you will notice the difference on user end as well. If you have already received the update and installed it, you can share your experience in the comment section below, for benefit of other users.
