Micromax Canvas L A108 with 5.5 Inch Display, Quad Core and Android KitKat at 10,499 INR

Update 31-7-14: Canvas L is now available for 10,499 INR on Infibeam

Micromax A108 which we talked about couple of days back is now officially listed on Micromax’s official webpage as Canvas L without a price tag. The 5.5 inch phablet follows A10X series code with quad core chipset and Android Kitkat steering it through – what is expected to be – budget Android segment.

Canvas L with 5.5 inch display suffers from scarcity of pixels with qHD 960 x 540 Pixel resolution which amounts to 200 pixels per inches. The not so sharp IPS LCD display will be a window to almost stock Android 4.4 KitKat interface fueled by MediaTek MT6582 quad core SoC.

1.3 GHz Cortex A7 chipset includes 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage which makes it a competent budget Android challenger. Storage is expandable by another 32 GB using MicroSD card slot. Out of 8 GB, 1.25 will be available for app installation and 4.91 for user data which doesn’t sound too great.

Micromax Canvas L features an 8 MP rear camera with LED Flash. The rear auto focus camera can record 720p HD videos and is paired with a fixed focus 2 MP unit for selfies. Connectivity features include Bluetooth 4.0, WiFi, 3G and GPS

Battery capacity is 2350 mAh and according to Micromax you can extract 8 hours of talk time and 210 hours of standby time. Considering the large phablet size display, it won’t be wise to expect large on-screen time.

Micromax Canvas L is meant for basic usage and first time buyers who prioritize large display in their smartphone. The price is expected to be around 10,000 INR and Canvas L will land next to Xolo Q2000L and  Xiaomi Redmi Note in India.
