Xolo Play 8X-1200 with Octa Core CPU Listed on Official Website for 19,999 INR

Today, Xolo has announced launch of its first ever octa-core smartphone based on Hive UI dubbed Xolo Play 8X-1000 in India for Rs 13,999. While the sale of this device is all set to debut from the next week, another high-end smartphone called Xolo Play 8X-1200 has been listed on the official website. This handset is priced at Rs 19,999, but launch details and the availability remain unknown.

Detailing on the technical aspects, the Xolo Play 8X-1200 is fitted with a 5 inch FHD IPS OGS display that carries a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels and a pixel density of 441 pixels per inch. The One Glass Solution technology reduces the gap between the touch and screen minimizing the thickness of the device.

Under the hood, the device employs a 2 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592T processor supplemented with a 700 MHz Mali 450 GPU and 2 GB of RAM. Storage wise, there is an impressive 32 GB of internal storage capacity in the Xolo Play 8X-1200 that cannot be expanded as the handset lacks a micro SD expansion card slot.

Also, it packs a 13 MP PureCel sensor at its back with dual LED flash and FHD 1080p video recording. This is teamed up with a 5 MP front-facer with BSI sensor. The connectivity features onboard include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and USB OTG for easier transfer of content between two devices without a host. The handset also includes a 2,300 mAh battery to power up the FHD octa-core device.

The handset based on Android 4.4 KitKat lacks the Hive UI that has debuted with the Play 8X-1000, hence the device will be lacking all those new feature additions brought in by Xolo’s new UI.
