These days, India based smartphone vendor Xolo appears to be splashing the market with solid offerings with reasonable price tags. Following the launch of its HIVE based smartphones Play 8X-1000, the firm has come up with an entry-level handset called Xolo Q510s. The handset comes with decent specifications despite its competitive price tag of Rs 6,499. Here we come up with a quick review of the Q510s.
Camera and Internal Storage
The Xolo handset is given a standard 5 MP primary snapper that is coupled with LED flash for better low light photography experience and FHD 1080p video recording capability. Furthermore, the device also incorporates a VGA front-facing camera that is capable of making basic video calls. While there is nothing extraordinary in the imaging department, it appears to be worthy enough for a stiff competition with its rivals that are also priced similarly.
Internal storage space of 8 GB is a welcome feature as there are hardly a few offerings in the sub Rs 10,000 price bracket that come with such increased storage options. Furthermore, this can be further expanded externally by another 32 GB using a micro SD card. While most of the offerings in the entry-level market arrive with only 4 GB of storage capacity, the inclusion of 8 GB is a welcome addition.
Processor and Battery
The SoC used in the Xolo phone is a MediaTek 6582M chipset that houses a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor for decent performance. This processor is clubbed with 416MHz Mali-400 MP2 graphics engine to handle the gaming requirements of users and 1 GB of RAM for efficient multi-tasking.
Battery capacity is 1,500 mAh, which sounds moderate for the specifications of the handset. This battery capacity is relatively smaller than the batteries in the other entry-level handsets.
Display and Features
The Xolo Q510s boasts of a 4 inch IPS display that carries a WVGA screen resolution packing 800×480 pixels. This basic display with average aspects should be adequate for the basic tasks such as watching videos, browsing the net and playing games.
Like the other entry-level smartphones, this one also comes fueled with Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The dual SIM handset packs a slew of standard connectivity features such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and 3G.
Comparison
Xolo Q510s will be a stiff challenger for the devices including Intex Style PRO, Celkon Millennium Dazzle Q44 and Micromax Canvas Fire 2 A104.
