Xolo is definitely on a launch spree as the vendor is constantly splashing the market with impressive smartphones. It is one firm that is focusing on launching gaming oriented handsets in the budget market segment with models under its Play series. Now, Xolo has come up with a new smartphone called Play 8X-1100 that carries a price tag of Rs 14,999. Here is a quick review on the smattphone based on its capabilities.

Camera and Internal Storage

Xolo has gone done a pretty impressive job in the imaging department by packing the device a great camera set. At the back of the Play 8X-1100 is a 13 MP Sony Exmor RS camera sensor coupled with faster auto focus and FHD 1080p video recording. Also, there is a 5 MP selfie camera at the front teamed up with BSI sensor and 88 degree wide angle lens to provide a wide selfie frame enabling group selfies. This will make the Xolo smartphone a great seflie oriented handset in the mid-range market segment.

Storage wise, the handset comes with an impressive 16 GB native storage capacity that should suffice in storing all the necessary content. However, the device features a micro SD card slot for additional storage support up to 32 GB.


Processor and Battery

A 1.7 GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6592 processor is employed in the handset in order to deliver superior performance. This is paired with a 700 MHz Mali 450 GPU to render great energy and speed for a good mobile gaming experience. Also, there is 2 GB of RAM capacity onboard for decent multi-tasking. With these hardware aspects, the handset appears to be truly optimized for the mobile gaming enthusiasts.

A 2,100 mAh battery is present to juice it up the smartphone and it appears pretty average with no bump in its capacity to suit a gaming device.

Comparison

The Xolo Play 8X-1100 with its high quality mobile photography and gaming aspects will be a tough challenger to the Xiaomi Redmi Note, Gionee Elife E7, Karbonn Titanium Octane Plus and others.

The Xolo Play 8X-1100 is priced reasonably at Rs 14,999 given its premium specifications and features. The handset becomes a great offering in the market as it takes advantage of increased internal storage space, good display with FHD resolution, decent octa-core processor and an impressive camera set. With such striking aspects, the Xolo phone is believed to be a challenger to the other flagship phones that are available with similar aspects for hefty price tags.
