Lenovo has launched a new tablet dubbed S5000 in the Indian market with a price tag of Rs 10,999. The company touts this tablet to be the light in weight measuring a mere 246 grams and clad in a metallic body. For now, the tablet is available is available for sale via e-commerce portal Amazon India.
In terms of specifications, the Lenovo S5000 tablet is fitted with a 7 inch display that carries a screen resolution of 1280×800 pixels. Under its hood, there is a 1.2 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8389 processor that is backed by 1 GB of RAM. Storage wise, the tablet bundles 16 GB of internal storage space that appears to be non-expandable.
When it comes to the photography department, the Lenovo’s most recent slate is given a 5 MP primary camera at its back and a 1.6 MP front-facer that should suffice for video conferencing and clicking self portrait shots. The Lenovo S5000 runs on the dated Android 4.2 Jelly Bean platform and can be upgraded to the v4.3 Jelly Bean.
Connectivity features onboard the tablet are Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G and micro USB OTG for effortless transfer of content between two devices without a host. Also, there is a 3,450 mAh battery that is rated to provide up to 8 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing and up to 6 hours of HD video playback.
