The highlight of the smartphone is its unique form factor with a 4.5 inch 1:1 Aspect ratio ppi busting IPS LCD display with 1440 x 1440 resolution (453 ppi). BlackBerry enumerated benefits of this form factor which can house more info (being wide) and will also suit those who wish to see professional images.

Passport will be powered by 2.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 800 with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of Internal storage. You can further augment storage by another 64 GB using MicroSD card slot. The handset also features a capacitive keyboard unlike any other conventional BlackBerry QWERTY keyboard, to revitalize typing experience.

Software is BB10.3 OS which also supports Android Apps. There is a virtual BlackBerry Assistant to accept and obey voice commands as well. Another interesting software feature is BlackBerry Blend, which BlackBerry has introduced with the passport. The iOS continuity like feature allows you switch seamlessly between any OS based device including laptop, tablet, desktop and BlackBerry Smartphone. Amazon App store will come pre installed on PassPort

The rear 13 MP camera sports Optical Image Stabilization and is expected to be at par with popular Android flagships. You can record full HD videos from the rear shooter and HD videos from the 2 MP front snapper.

BlackBerry assures that battery backup hasn’t been compromised at all, and powering the internals is a massive 3450 mAh battery with 30 hours of use time.  In its second comeback attempt, BlackBerry is targeting the enterprise users rather than fiercely competitive consumer market, and perhaps that justifies the price tag. This new survival strategy makes sense and BlackBerry Passport sounds like the perfect and unique machine to help sail in the right direction.

You can pre-book BlackBerry Passport from starting from today for 49,990 INR. Passport will go on sale starting 10th October and those who pre-book before that, will get Amazon gift card worth 5,000 INR and 5000 complimentary miles from Jet Airways.
