Xiaomi Rolls Out OTA Update to Fix Heating Issue and Low RAM Issue

Enthusiasm for Xiaomi Redmi 1S (Full Review) in India refuses to decline. The Chinese manufacturer sold 1, 00,000 Redmi 1S units today in just 4.2 seconds (Honestly, we expected it to last longer this time). Meanwhile, Xiaomi has started rolling out MIUI JHCMIBH45.0 OTA update to address some key issues, users have been complaining about in India. Xiaomi also provided clarification for chipset and battery queries, which users have been asking.

Yes, this important update will attempt to fix heating issue and low ram issue while attempting demanding tasks on Xiaomi Redmi 1S besides bringing several other performance enhancements. Here is what the update aims to fix:

· Added thermal control to prevent the device from heating

· Optimized RAM usage to prevent background apps from getting killed


· Improved the security of cloud messaging

· Optimized the function of recognizing time information in messages

· Optimized time recognition method in a message

· Fixed several issues with calendar, Email, Messages and explorer

Several users have been complaining about heating issues, though we didn’t face any unconventional heating problem in our review unit. Good thing is that Xiaomi has acknowledged the problem and has brought a fix for it. Regulated temperature will also improve the battery life of your Xiaomi Redmi 1S.

With this 515 MB update Xiaomi has addressed most key issues users have been facing and perhaps this will work. Hugo Barra has also clarified on MIUI Forums that Xiaomi is using MSM8228 chipset and not MSM8226 as is listed by third party apps like CPU-Z.
