Motorola has confirmed that Moto E will be getting Android 5.0 Lollipop update as well along with Moto G and Moto X first generation. The update for Moto X and Moto G second generation was already promised at the launch event.
There is no information on timing of the updates but rest assured, all Motorola products will receive speedy Android 5.0 Lollipop upgrade.

Since all of these smartphones run almost Stock android experience, you would be able to appreciate the material design changes even more. Besides Material design, Android 5.0 Lollipop will bring more responsive UI, more efficient ART Runtime, 64 bit support, battery saver mode, and much more to the table.
