Latest addition to less than $100 quad core- 1 GB RAM-8 GB storage smartphone club is Panasonic T40 which offers reasonably well hardware for 5,990 INR. Software features like draw to unlock, gesture+ and Pop-I player have been passed down to this budget handset as well.

Front side is dominated by a 4 Inch IPS LCD display with usable WVGA resolution (800×480), lined by three capacitive buttons. Panasonic T40 is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad core chipset, probably form MediaTek aided by 1 GB RAM and 8 GB nand flash storage.
Software is Android 4.4.2 KitKat for rich Android experience. Imaging hardware is standard 5 MP rear/ 2 MP front camera with LED flash for low light photography. All hardware will be powered by 1500 mAh battery.
Panasonic T40 is also quite light, tipping the scale at 117 grams. Connectivity options include 3G, WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth and GPS. Panasonic T40 will be available in Bright Red, Dark Grey and White colors at 5,990 INR. Pansaonic T40 will compete with phones like Zenfone 4.5, Huawei Honor Holly and Xiaomi Redmi 1S.
