Battery life is high on priority list for most Android users and this is also where several budget price Android smartphone falter. Lava is attempting to address this issue with its Iris Fuel 50, that comes with a capacious 3000 mAh battery.
Other specifications are however quite standard. There is a 5 Inch FWVGA (480 x 854) resolution display with Asahi dragon-trail glass protection on top. Software is stock Android 4.4 Kitkat powered by 1.3 GHz quad core SoC, most likely MediaTek MT6582, with 1 GB RAM.
Out of 8 GB native storage, 2.7GB is available for apps and another 2.9 GB is free for App and user data. You can add another 32 GB MicroSD external storage as well. Lava Iris Fuel 50 also boasts of a set of touch screen gestures including double tap to unlock.
Imaging hardware includes an 8 MP rear camera with dual LED flash support capable of 720p HD video recording. A basic 2 MP front fixed focus camera is also present for video calling and selfies.
The 3000 mAh battery which is the main highlight, can last for 17 hours of 2G Talk time and 370 hours of standby time according to Lava. Lava didn’t share any more usage stats for the battery. Other features include 3G, WiFi, USB OTG and Bluetooth 4.0. Lava Iris Fuel 50 will retail in Black Color variant only for 7,799 INR starting today.
