Today, Spice has come up with a new smartphone called Spice Mi-549 that has been listed on online retailer HomeShop18 with a price of Rs 7,999. However, the listing claims that the device is out of stock and it is expected to go on sale soon.
When it comes to specifications, the Spice Mi-549 is given a 5.5 inch display that carries a FHD screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels making it one of the few FHD smartphones in the entry-level segment. Powering the smartphone is a 1.3 GHz quad core processor that is assisted by 1 GB RAM and 8 GB internal storage. Well, there is support for expandable storage up to 32 GB using a micro SD card. The phone is fueled by Android 4.4 KitKat as the others in its price bracket.
The dual SIM Spice Mi-549 features an 8 MP rear camera with auto focus, LED flash and support for FHD 1080p video shooting. There is a 2 MP front selfie shooter as well onboard to make video calls. Connectivity wise, there is support for 3G HSPA+, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and aGPS. A 2,220 mAh battery powers the smartphone providing a moderate backup to it that would be on par with the others in this range.
Though the specifications of the Spice Mi-549 are similar to what the other devices in its price bracket arrive with, the incorporation of a FHD display is sure to make it capable enough up against the rest. However, there are few such smartphones in the sub Rs 10,000 price bracket including Karbonn S7 Titanium and Zen Ultrafone Amaze 701 FHD.
