The teaser reads, “Convince Mi you want a Redmi Note” and there is a contest that will run till 9:00 PM tonight requiring fans to tag friends and share a click of a drawing or design by them. The winner of this content will receive a Redmi Note and this step has been followed by Xiaomi for the launch of its previous offerings as well. In addition, several reports suggest that the Redmi Note will be going on sale from December 2.

The report goes on adding that the vendor is known for its flash sales and launch pattern has not sold two phones at the same time and hence, there is an increased possibility for the Redmi 1S to be discounted by the time the Redmi Note goes on sale. It followed the same move by discontinuing the Xiaomi Mi3 in India to focus on the Redmi 1S sales.

The Redmi Note boasts of a 5.5-inch 720p IPS display and is powered by a 1.7 GHz Mediatek MT6592 octa core processor coupled with 2 GB of RAM. The device features 8 GB of internal storage capacity that is expandable via micro SD card and comes with a 13 MP rear camera, a 5 MP front camera and a 3,100 mAh battery. The phablet carries a price tag of Rs 9,999 and will go on sale on Flipkart.
