OnePlus earlier stated that it will be giving full Warranty and support for all OnePlus One in India bought from Global OnePlus website. Today OnePlus Cofounder Carl Pei further clarified that all those who bought their devices from China will also get Customer support, but won’t get any warranty.
In Homeland China OnePlus One is running Color OS, but you don’t need a notorious Invite to buy it. Chinese ecommerce retailers took advantage of this and gave users options to flash CyanogenMod and ship OnePlus One all over the globe.
Several users in India are now using the Chinese variant and OnePlus won’t be offering warranty for the same in India. You can however pay for the damage and avail one plus services in India. This won’t make much of a difference for OnePlus as it won’t have to maintain separate spares or incur any additional cost for the same.
in related news, OnePlus will also introduce 16 GB variant in India later to compete against Xiaomi Mi3 in India. The 16 GB variant will be priced under 20,000 INR.
