India has now become one of the fasted growing smartphone market and several Chinese manufacturer are eyeing for a piece of this pie. With Ecommerce trade on the rise, this is easier than ever before as is evident from the successful run for companies like Motorola, Asus and Xiaomi.

Next in line is Chinese smartphone brand Vivo, which has been in news lately for its upcoming ‘Worlds Slimmest Smartphone’ Vivo X5 Max, which is only 4.75 mm thick, i.e., marginally slimmer than 4.85 mm Oppo R5, while still retaining MicroSD card slot and 3.5 mm audio jack.

The company is also globally renowned for being the first company to launch a smartphone with Quad HD display. In homeland China, Vivo is far more popular and even surpassed Apple in terms of number of smartphones sold, with a 6 percent market share.

“Vivo was launched in China in 2011 and we started entering the other markets only this year. We will bring four-five models in India in the first year with a price range between Rs 7,000 and Rs 40,000. Of the first lot, at least three will be priced above Rs 20,000,” said Jacky Liao, director, Vivo Mobile India.

Vivo has partnered with Viacom18 Integrated Network Solutions, which will help Vivo with brand development in India.
