Acer has today announced an upgraded version of Liquid Jade, called Jade S which will initially retail in Taiwan. The new Jade S is powered by 64 bit MT6752M octa SoC instead of conventional MT6582 quad core in its predecessor. The rest of the hardware remains similar.
MT6752M 64 bit octa core SoC at the heart of the device is ticking at 1.5 GHz. All cores are based on ARM Cortex A53 architecture and are assisted by 2 GB RAM and Mali T760 GPU. Internal storage is 16 GB and can be further expanded using a MicroSD card slot.
The display is 5 inches in size with 720 x 1280 pixels lined across it. Acer Jade S is only 7.78 mm thick and pretty light at 116 grams. Acer has managed to fit in 2300 mAh battery inside, which is again a minor improvement over Acer Liquid Jade.
