The Gorilla Glass 4 is claimed to be two times tougher than any competitive cover glass design available in the market. It has been formulated to withstand screen breakage from everyday drops. It is claimed that Corning scientists examined hundreds of broken devices and found that damage caused by sharp contact accounted for over 70 percent of field failures. Following this, Corning Gorilla Glass 4 has been tested for performance even when it comes in contact with sharp contact damage.

Talking of some highlights of the latest protective cover glass, the Gorilla Glass 4 has enhanced retained strength after use, improved performance on drops surviving on almost 80 percent drops and superior surface quality all with a thin profile of 0.4 mm to 2.0 mm thickness.

At the launch, Amit Bansal, President at Corning Technologies India said, “We see significant potential for Gorilla® Glass 4 in India and are frequently speaking to Indian OEMs to understand their requirements. It is one of the fastest growing consumer electronics markets in the world and it therefore makes perfect sense to equip manufactures here with the very best in cover glass technology.”
