If you are looking for a compact phone in budget price range, iBall has today launched iBall Andi 4.5V Baby Panther with octa core chipset for 7,599 INR. In India, this will compete against Android One devices, Micromax Canvas Xpress, Huawei Honor Holly, etc.

The display is easily manageable with 4.5 inches diagonal length with 960 x 540 pixel resolution. iBall Andi 4.5V Baby Panther is powered by 1.4 GHz Octa Core MT6592M chipset with 1 GB RAM and standard 8 GB internal storage. The storage can be further expanded by another 32GB via MicroSD card slot.

Imaging hardware includes 8 MP AF rear camera with LED flash and the customary 2 MP front camera for selfies. All hardware is propelled by a modest 1700 mAh battery. On paper, this doesn’t seem like much consider the display resolution and chipset being used. It is still too soon to write it off, as iBall might be saving elsewhere.

Other features include 3G, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 with A2DP and GPS. On the software front, this phone is running Android 4.4 KitKat. The OS is upgradeable, but iBall hasn’t specified any time frame or guaranteed Lollipop upgrade.

We are pleased to announce the new addition ‘Baby Panther’ – to the Andi Panther series. It is the compact with superior technological performance at low price point. Baby Panther is not only stylish but also the first 4.5” smart phone in the market today. It is sure to strike a chord with the entire new age users who are not only tech savvy but also conscious about the gadgets they carry,“ said Sandeep Parasrampuria, Director, iBall India.

iBall Andi 4.5V Baby Panther seems to be a compact easily manageable smartphone with decent hardware. A slightly bigger battery would have made it a better proposition. It is available in Blue and White color variants for 7,599 INR.
