Kodak the popular camera manufacturer that has been around for over a century was renowned for its imaging solutions. But, the firm lately emerged from mere bankruptcy and it was forced to layoff thousands of jobs that shrunk its operations. Now, it appears like Kodak is all set to join the Android race by introducing a range of smartphones.
To announce smartphones, Kodak will be partnering with mobile device makers including Bullitt Group known for its association in Caterpillar mobile devices. Eventually, the imaging firm will be launching a range of Android based smartphones and tablets. This partnership is not new as Bullitt has been working with Kodak on other mobile devices as well.
Regarding this, Kodak claimed that the upcoming smartphone will be the packed with best-in-class image management software and features with great design and UI. It is also mentioned that this new lineup of Android devices will be modified image capture, sharing and management features.
The firm also revealed details regarding the advanced remote management software that would be preinstalled, but its functionality remains undisclosed. It has to be noted that Kodak is still one of the most recognizable brands in the world despite its financial issues.
According to the details revealed by Kodak, the handset will be launched at the CES 2015 event in January. Also, the other smartphone with 4G connectivity will be going official in the second half of 2015 alongside a tablet and a connected camera.
