Lava has quietly introduced another budget quad core smartphone – Lava EG932 in India, Priced at 11,989. In light of the asking price, the hardware seems dated and perhaps more matched with the MT6589 phones we saw 1 year back.
The display is 5 inches in size with quarter HD (960 X 540) pixel resolution, powered by 1.2 GHz unspecified quad core chipset (MT6589?) backed by 1 GB RAM and 4 GB internal storage. The storage is further expandable by another 64 GB.
Imaging hardware again sounds mismatched with a 5 MP rear shooter and a VGA front camera. Lava EG932 is 10.3 mm thick and weighs 160 grams. Software is Android 4.3 Jelly Bean which is good enough for decent android experience but still not as gratifying as Androdid KitKat or Lollipop.
Battery capacity is 2000 mAh while other features include Dual SIM support, 3G CDMA, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, DLNA, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS. You can buy this smartphone from Reliance Website with 24 month EMI plan or from Snapdeal.com for 11,989 INR.
Lava EG932 certainly seems out of place in today’s competitive smartphone market. Similar or even better hardware is now available for a lesser price. In 2015, things are expected to get even better.
