Hyderabad based Celkon has announced the launch of its very first octa core smartphone called Celkon OCTA510. The device is available for purchase for e-commerce portal eBay India for an attractive pricing of Rs 8,990. Notably, the newly launched Xolo Omega 5.0 also carries a similar price tag and specifications making them stiff challengers.
The Celkon OCTA510 boasts of a 5 inch IPS display with a HD screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels and it is equipped with an octa core processor that ticks at 1.4 GHz clock speed. Under its hood, there is 1 GB of RAM that can assist the octa core chipset rendering swift multitasking. Storage wise, the Celkon offering bundles standard 8 GB of native storage capacity that can be extended further using a micro SD card.
For imaging, the Celkon OCTA510 flaunts an 8 MP primary camera at its back teamed up with dual LED flash for enhanced photography under low ambient light conditions. This primary camera is supplemented with a 3.2 MP front facing selfie snapper for video conferencing. Connectivity aspects of the handset include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and dual SIM functionality. A 2,000 mAh battery pumps in enough juice for the Android 4.4 KitKat based Celkon OCTA510 to stay running for long hours.
There are several octa core smartphones such as Wickedleak Wammy Neo Youth, iBerry Auxus One, Xolo Omega 5.0 and others in the sub Rs 10,000 price bracket and the Celkon offering would a challenger to these devices with similar aspects.
