Xiaomi Mi 4 India Release Pegged for January 28

Xiaomi is in the tech headlines as the vendor unveiled couple of its phablets including the flagship Mi Note and its premium variant Mi Note Pro at an event in China on Thursday. In the meantime, the Xiaomi Mi4, the yesteryear flagship smartphone is yet to make its way into the Indian market. The handset was teased to be launched in the country in December, but it left the potential buyers in vain.

Now, there is a final date for those interested in buying the Xiaomi Mi4 as it is claimed that the India Head of the Chinese firm, Manu Jain has confirmed that the device will be launching in the country sometime in January, claims a NDTV report. But, this report does not conceal on a specific date for the arrival of the smartphone.

On the other hand, Karan Bajaj of Economic Times has taken to Twitter to claim that the Xiaomi Mi4 will be launching in India on January 28. It is claimed that the date has been confirmed by Xiaomi’s Vice President, Hugo Barra.

To refresh on its specifications, the Xiaomi Mi4 is fitted with a 5 inch FHD IPS OGS display layered with Corning Gorilla Glass protection to prevent scratches and damage due to everyday usage. The device incorporates a 2.5 GHz Snapdragon 801 SoC teamed up with 3 GB of RAM capacity. There are a 13 MP primary snapper with Sony IMX214 BSI sensor, LED flash and 4K video recording and an 8 MP front-facer with Sony sensor as well.


The device arrives in two options, 16 GB and 64 GB of non-expandable internal storage options and a 3,080 mAh battery powering it. Other aspects of the Mi4 include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Wi-Fi Direct, GPS and Bluetooth and Android KitKat OS topped with MIUI V6.
