Xiaomi Mi Note Pro VS LG G Flex 2 Comparison Overview

Earlier this month, at the CES 2015 tech show held in Las Vegas, LG unveiled its flagship smartphone G Flex 2. While other big players are yet to come up with their flagship or premium offerings for this year, Xiaomi announced its flagship Mi Note and its premium variant called Mi Note Pro with high end aspects. Today, we have come up with an elaborated spec comparison between these devices that are yet to make their way into the global market.

Display and Processor

Both the devices are sized in the similar segment, but they differ in design as the G Flex 2 is a curved device. Otherwise, the LG phone uses a 5.5 inch display with Curved P-OLED panel and Full HD screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels that provides 403 ppi pixel density. On the other hand, the Mi Note Pro is fitted with a 5.7 inch IPS LCD display with Quad HD screen resolution of 2560×1440 pixels that translates to a better pixel density of 515 pixels per inch. While the Xiaomi device is likely to be sharper among the two, both screens are topped with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

They both are common in the raw hardware department as they are equipped with an identical 64 bit octa core Qualcomm Snapdran 810 chipset that houses a quad core Cortex A53 processor and a quad core Cortex A57 processor and Adreno 430 graphics unit. This chipset is the latest one from Qualcomm and it will definitely render good levels performance. Otherwise, the Xiaomi device features 4 GB of RAM, whereas there is 2 GB or 3 GB of RAM in the LG G Flex 2 depending on the storage capacity.

Camera and Internal Storage

When it comes to the imaging department, the G Flex 2 boasts of a 13 MP primary camera with laser auto focus, dual LED flash, optical image stabilization and support for 2160p video recording. Up front, the device carries a 2.1 MP selfie shooter with the ability to capture Full HD 1080p videos. Going by the comparison, the Xiaomi Mi Note Pro flaunts a 13 MP main camera at its back with auto focus, dual tone LED flash and Full HD 1080p video recording. For video conferencing, the handset comes with a 4 MP front facing selfie snapper with a 2 micrometer pixel size for a good low light performance. Furthermore, the dual tone LED flash on the Xiaomi phone comes with low light mode that will let users to adjust the intensity of LED flash depending on the requirement.


Storage wise, the LG G Flex 2 comes with 16 GB or 32 GB of native storage capacity and this can be extended externally by another 128 GB with the help of a micro SD card. On the other hand, the Mi Note Pro features 64 GB of default memory capacity and it cannot be enhanced further as the device is sans a micro SD card slot.

Battery and Features

In the power management segment, there is no word regarding the backup that these devices render, but they are incorporated with near identical batteries. Well, the LG phone uses a 3,000 mAh battery and the Xiaomi model comes with a 3,090 mAh unit. With Quick Charge 2.0, these batteries can easily render a backup that will let them last for a day under mixed usage.

When it comes to storage, both the devices are based on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop operating system, but the latter is topped with MIUI 6. Apart from these, both LG G Flex 2 and Xioami Mi Note Pro arrive with connectivity aspects such as 4G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3G, GPS, NFC and other usual aspects. The LG model features Infrared as well as an added advantage. Also, the G Flex 2 comes with a self healing back panel coating that will get rid of the scratches on it in just ten seconds of time. On the other hand, the Xiaomi phone uses 2.5D Gorilla Glass 3 for the display panel and 3D Gorilla Glass 3 for its back. The Gorilla Glass 2.5D and 3D hint that they are angled down towards the metal trim and towards the glass respectively.

Conclusion

Of course, the LG G Flex 2 features a curved display, battery and build, but it is for those who prefer such devices. But, for those who are in the western markets Xiaomi does not provide its offerings there and hence, the LG offering will be their choice if they would like to experience 64 bit processing on their smartphone. There are several such preducts by different vendors, but these two are based on Android Lollipop that will bring the 64 bit computing feature to life. Moreover, when the devices are launched, we know that the Mi Note Pro will be pretty affordable as the other Xiaomi devices.
