Experimenting with a new sales model, Xiaomi has started selling refurbished Xiaomi Redmi 1S units in India. BGR reports that this new project is still in testing phase and will be practiced on a larger scale if the initial run is successful.
Refurbished units include two sets. The unboxed units are the ones whice users have returned after unboxing and these are available for 4,999 INR, the other set includes the ones which were returned due to some minor defect and have now been fixed. These units are selling for 4,590 INR. The original Xiaomi Redmi 1s on the other hand is selling for 5,999 INR.
Reportedly the first sales received good response. The first sales was carried out at OverCart.com and an invitation was required to participate. Xiaomi will carry out more such sales in partnership with 4 to 5 other ecommerce retailers.
Xiaomi Redmi 1S is the best selling Xiaomi product so far and for good reason. The great value for money devices is definitely a steal with the additional discount.
This weekend, Xiaomi is also selling Redmi Note 4G without any registration required. You can just visit Flipkart and buy it without having to fight your way through an online stampede.
