Back in September HTC announced the launch of the HTC Desire 816G in India for Rs 18,990 and now, it has re-launched the same for Rs 19,999 and has packed in some hardware enhancements.
The upgraded HTC 816G is given a new octa core processor and increased internal storage space. The other specifications of the handset are similar to the original one with a 5.5 inch SLCD 2 display with HD 720p resolution. The smartphone flaunts a 13 MP main camera at its back with BSI sensor, f2.2 wide aperture, 28mm lens and support for FHD 1080p video recording. There is a 5 MP front facing camera as well for video conferencing.
A 2,600 mAh battery powers the Desire 816G pumping a decent backup to it. Connectivity aspects of the HTC offering include dual SIM card slots, 3G, Wi-Fi, NFC, Bluetooth and GPS/AGPS. The smartphone runs on Android 4.4.2 KitKat topped with Sense 6 UI.

Otherwise, the Desire 816G will feature Dual BoomSound front facing speakers as in the other smartphones from the vendor.
Notably, the upgraded Desire 816G makes use of a 1.7 GHz octa core processor backed by with a 1 GB of RAM as in the quad core variant. In comparison, the original model features a quad core 1.3 GHz MediaTek MT6582 chipset under its hood. Instead of 8 GB of storage, the new Desire 816G features 16 GB of storage capacity that can be further expanded by another 32 GB via a micro SD card.
