Intex had a silent release of a new Android smartphone this morning. The Indian smartphone manufacturer announced a new smartphone with entry-level specifications named as Intex Aqua Desire, which can be bought from e-commerce sellers like Rediff and IndiaTimes Shopping for the price of Rs. 5,560.

The device has a 4.7 inch FWVGA display and is powered by a 1.2GHz dual core MTK processor coupled with 512 MB of RAM, 4GB of internal storage with a microSD card slot. On the camera front, Intex has included a whopping 8MP auto-focus rear camera and a 2MP front camera. The phone has a moderate 1700 mAh battery.

Looking at the connectivity features, the Aqua Desire features 3G, dual-sim capability, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The phone will be running Android 4.4 KitKat and will be preloaded with Intex’s apps with enhancements like gesture support, double-tap to wake(Like on OnePlus One, LG G3 and HTC One M8) and a pop-up video player. The pre-installed apps include apps like ASK Me, Clean Master, Intex Market, Intex Fun, Intex Play, Intex Zone, Flashlight, OLX. The phone also comes with Opera Mini web browser pre installed.

The color availability of the phone is limited to Blue, Gray and White. Intex Aqua Desire can’ compete with the online exclusives, but tries to squeeze in decent amount of hardware to mark its place in offline stores.
