Gionee to Unveil Ultra Slim Smartphones at MWC 2015, Could be Gionee S3

As the MWC 2015 tech show is approaching early next month, Gionee has announced that it will be unveiling its new ultra thin smartphones on March 2. Notably, a new Gionee smartphone called Gionee S3 allegedly with a thin build and 5.2 inch display was spotted to be in testing and there is a possibility for the device to go official next month at the tech show.

The Chinese vendor that was behind making world’s slimmest smartphones such as the Gionee Elife S5.5 and Elife S5.1, but the firm has been outshined by fellow makers such as Oppo, Vivo and Coolpad with slimmer smartphones. May be, Gionee will be back with a bang this time with the alleged ultra thin smartphone.

In an official statement, Gionee stated that the other vendors are pushing limits due to slim profile such as lack of headphone jack, less battery life, a protruding main camera and heating issues. It stated that going slim is not benefiting users by rendering high end performance.

Regarding the upcoming slim smartphones, Gionee claimed that, “With smartphone manufacturers racing to launch models that can turn heads, this year at MWC, Gionee is looking at a new wave of slim phones that can be elevated to the next level, bringing its latest slim smartphone that’s more than beyond slim, without compromising on performance and a focus on delivering a superior user experience, whether in technology, design, or usability.”
