Micromax Joy X1800 and Joy X1850 Feature Phones will sell in Plastic Pouches

Micromax has today launched two new feature phones in India – The Joy X1800 and Joy X1850 – Notably in a pouch packaging, instead of the conventional box. These basic feature phones have been priced at Rs. 699 and Rs. 749 respectively.

Micromax claims that its first time in Indian market, that a company is retailing smartphones in pouch packages. Well, if it shaves off a couple of hundred bucks off the retail price, budget conscious buyers won’t mind the packaging and concerned aesthetic appeal.

Joy X1800 and Joy X1850 list all basic feature phone functionality including Colored display, basic camera, FM radio, alarm clock, flashlight and more. Both of these phones have a 4.49 cm or 1.77 Inch 128 x 160 pixel display.

Joy X1800 has a smaller 750mAh battery, which can last for 235 hours on standby and 3 hours of talk time. Micromax Joy X1850 on the other hand has a bigger 1800 mAh battery that promises 25 days standby and 7.5h talk time. Other features include Dual SIM support, Bluetooth 3.0 and 4 GB MicroSD Card support.

Commenting on the launch, Mr. Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax Informatics Limited, said, “We introduce products which offer great value to the consumers. With the launch of Joy series, we have taken a lead yet again by offering a unique combination of innovative packaging and great value through our offerings.”

Joy X1800 is already available in the market for 699 INR, while Joy X1850 will arrive next week for just 749 INR.
